 Wolves Interested in Robbie Findley?

One of the major complaints for American soccer fans during last summers World Cup was the lack of goal scoring punch from the forward position.

That fact hasnt stopped Edson Buddle and, now, Robbie Findley from drawing some level of interest from English clubs, however.

The Daily Mail, a much debated source of reliable English football news, is reporting that Wolves manager Mick McCarthy is considering a move for Findley, who became a free agent after four years with Real Salt Lake at the end of the MLS season. Technically, Portland owns his MLS rights but thats only if he doesnt leave for Europe.

A couple of obstacles exist right now:

1. Hes apparently injured. That makes him a little tough for McCarthy to evaluate.

2. Hell need a work permit. He has 11 appearances for the national team, which may be enough to help him reach the 75 percent requirement for the Premier League.

Im not as down on Findley as some American soccer fans may be, but Im not convinced hes ready for a spot in the EPL.

Hes very fast and he works hard, but his first touch and technical ability have yet to come through on the highest level, as he has yet to score a goal in a U.S. shirt.

To me, if he doesnt want to stay in MLS, a move to Denmark or Holland makes more sense.

Hes 25, so its too early to say hell never be good enough to play in England.

Im just not sure hes ready right now.
