Championship Round Up Boxing Day 2010
As seems standard at the moment todays schedule was blighted by postponements however seven games did take place providing the usual thrills and spills of the league.
This now means that some clubs have reached the magical halfway point in their seasons, whereas Nottingham Forest and Scunthorpe are still three games from that milestone as the weather starts to pose long term fixture schedulingproblems.
Focusing In todays action leaders QPR routed Swansea by four goals, including a second half brace from Adel Taarabt to move five points clear of third placed Leeds with a game in hand.
Despite Swanseas defeat one half of Wales was happy as Cardiff moved back into the automatic promotion places with a win over Coventry. Whilst Leeds spurned a two goal lead against Leicester City as they became part of a growing trend of two goal comebacks, which are certainly adding excitement into the league.
One of the high profile loanees focused upon by ChampionshipTalk John Guidetti of Manchester City got off the mark for Burnley as Brian Laws side came back from a goal down away from home to beat Barnsley.
In the playoff race, Reading came back from an early set back to rout Bristol City courtesy of a fine match winning performance and brace from Shane Long.
I have however saved the best game till last in my summary as Sheffield United and Hull City took part in a thrilling Yorkshire derby. Sheffield United found themselves two goals down and launched a stunning comeback (this really does seem contagious at the moment) to tie things up at home. However Hulls forgotten man Jimmy Bullard came off the bench to score a stoppage time winner and break Sheffield hearts.
