Chris Kirkland signs up to Leicester glory hunt

WIGAN keeper Chris Kirkland is set to join Leicester on loan after losing his place to Ali Al Habsi.

The move has been delayed after Kirkland picked up a virus, but Latics boss Roberto Martinez said: Now he is over the bug, we will look into what we can do to help him enjoy his football.

He needs to be playing and being able to maintain that sharpness. We will need him to be ready whenever he gets an opportunity to play for Wigan.

Championship side Leicester have also signed West Brom striker Roman Bednar on loan until January.

The Czech Republic international is Sven Goran Erikssons fifth signing since taking over as the Foxes manager.

Bednar, 27, is well down the pecking order at West Brom and Albion boss Roberto Di Matteo said: With strikers, it is all about confidence and goals.

You would expect to see Leicester winning some games and that should suit him. Hopefully hell score goals to help them, help himself and everybody.
