Bundesliga Sunday Round-Up: Matchday Six

wolfsburg grafite 468x345 Bundesliga Sunday Round Up: Matchday Six

Grafite Blasted His Side To Another Three Points As Wolfsburg Roll Continues.

Steve McClarens new-look Wolfsburg side hosted Freiburg at the Volkswagen Arena this Sunday, while recently promoted Kaiserslautern hosted Hannover.

VfL Wolfsburg 2 1 SC Freiburg

Wolfsburg continued their good form with another win, and this time over Freiburg. Brazilian striker Grafite opened the scoring on 25 minutes, but Freiburg pulled one back through Bundesliga top scorer Papiss Demba Cisse ten minutes before the break. After the half, McClarens side continued to press, and it was Grafite once again who popped up with the goal. McClarens diamond formation seems to be working very well, and if he can keep this kind of form up, he will be challenging for a Champions League spot after all. Good win for Wolfsburg, and good effort by Freiburg. Wolfsburg travel to Gladbach next weekend, while Freiburg host Koln.

FC Kaiserslautern 0 1 Hannover 96

Hannover picked up a surprise 01 win away to Kaiserslautern today that head coach Mirko Slomka will be very pleased with. His side have been on impressive form early on this season, and now find themselves in third place, with 13 points from their first six games this season. Mohamed Abdellaoue continued his hot form with the only goal of the game, and despite Kaiserslautern having quite a few promising chances, Florian Fromlowitz stood firm between the posts for Hannover. An excellent away win for Slomkas side, and hell be hoping his team can remain consistent throughout the season and challenge for a European spot. Hannover host St. Pauli on Friday, while Kaiserslautern travel to Hamburg.
