Paraguay footballer Jose Pedroso has been handed a 27-game ban for attempting to choke a referee.

The incident (which you can watch below) occured during a Chilean second-division match at the weekend. Explaining the breakdown of his ban, the governing body in Chile said two games were for the red card, 20 for the choking and five for going back for more.

Pedroso has since resigned from his club Rangers, vowing to return to Paraguay. Im not the least bit sorry, he was quoted saying in the Chilean newspaper La Tercera.
