Fernando Torres tells Roy Hodgson 'I want to stay at Liverpool'

Fernando Torres has tried to end speculation about his future by telling manager Roy Hodgson he wants to stay at Liverpool.

Thats what I know so other reports, I would suggest, are erroneous, Hodgson added. The news came on the day Reds midfielder Javier Mascherano told the club he does want to leave Anfield.
The Argentina midfielder has been linked with a 25million move to Inter Milan, with his agent describing the prospect of linking up with former Reds boss Rafa Benitez at the European champions as a dream. Yes, he wants to leave, added Hodgson.
He has made that perfectly clear. But he is contracted to Liverpool so whether he leaves or not will be our decision.
Mascheranos desire to go is not unexpected but it is the news from Torres which will lift Liverpool fans.
